What are you showing up for?
It’s Monday again. Can you believe it? It happens every week and still, each time I’m like whoa! It’s Monday again! That came fast!
After our online Pilates class last week, someone shared a realization…
I realized last week after class that if I hadn’t invested money into this, I would never take this time for myself. The baby was freaking out, but was also fine. She was fussy. And if this had been a free download, or a YouTube video I would have stopped it and gone to her. But because I made an investment here, for me, we figured it out. And I feel so much better knowing I made and have this time for myself.
We talked about the bigger impact of making an investment in yourself through money, energy, time, etc. How it holds you to a different level of accountability. When you really make an investment and put your money where your mouth is, you show up differently.
And because she had made this commitment and investment in herself she showed up. And maybe the workout was a little more…disjointed than before having a baby, it happened. She showed up, moved her body, connected to muscles that have been hibernating and left the session feeling more open, stronger, and LIKE SOMEONE WHO SHOWS UP FOR HERSELF!
I know you know that feeling. That feeling of an extra lift in your chest, an extra pep in your step, like you are the whipped topic on your orange mocha frappuccino!
And I know you know the opposite feeling. The feeling when you made a promise yourself that you would start moving more, stressing less, shifting priorities and then…life gets in the way. The baby started crying. Or the phone rings. Or an email pops up. Someone gets freaking pink eye! You realize you’re NOT an ambiturner!!!
Whatever it is derails everything.
And listen, I’m not saying if you pay for a Pilates class these things won’t happen. What I’m saying is if you up the stakes, if you put your money where your mouth is, YOU won’t fall to the bottom of the list again. You’ll stay near the top where you belong!
Because one week from today it’s going to be Monday again! So what I’m wondering is…Are you putting your money where your mouth is and showing up for yourself the same way you do for others? Reply to this email and let me know, I love hearing from you 🙂
As always, I’ve got your back. I’ve got your front. And I’ve got your undercarriage!
