Translation | Urethral Sphincter: this little loop of muscle keeps the pee in and lets the pee out.
There is a really cool relationship between these muscles and your bladder. When everything is working optimally, they are VERY good at taking turns. When the urethral sphincter is closed and engaged the bladder relaxes and is able to expand and collect urine. Fun fact: The bladder is also made of muscle. What?! I know.
