If you watched the Usher concert Sunday night, you’re probably ALSO still reeling from the roller skating into a split that made my brain explode. I now need roller skating lessons ASAP. Right?!
And you want to know something really cool? Dancers do Pilates. This is how they are ready for peak performance at all times. Do you think they walked into the audition or rehearsals for that performance knowing they’d be roller skating AND doing splits?!
You want to know something else really cool? Football players do Pilates. This is how they are ready for anything that happens on the field. To run, pivot, hit, be hit, and keep going.
Chiefs players, 49ers players, Steelers players, Broncos players, the list goes on! I’ve taught some of them!
George Balanchine and Martha Graham brought their dancers to Pilates and I mean… I started Pilates because it was part of the curriculum at my ballet academy and continued because it was part of my College dance program!
Athletes do Pilates.
People who depend on their body day in and day out, on and off the stage/field/playground choose Pilates.
