So, I’ve been taking fitness classes at a local gym and I’m really enjoying them. You can see clips of my rocking out in dance cardio here and here.
The other day I took a strength training class and, as always, introduced myself to the teacher before class and let her know I’m pregnant and will be happily modifying things throughout class. I like to let them know I’m comfortable so they don’t have to worry about me and also let them know I am open to modifications and suggestions if they have them, but also I’m not here to steal their focus.
Anyway, in today’s private podcast episode I’m sharing something that the teacher said to me as encouragement that was…not encouragement. I know she had good intentions, but really all I got from this exchange is “We are completely different people with a completely different perspective on life and pregnancy. And no. i don’t feel like I need to apologize for being pregnant.”
And not for nothing, this applies to a LOT more than just pregnancy. People pull this kind of garbage all the time. I think it’s trash and I cannot wait to hear what you think.
