When you get pregnant, grow a new organ, grow a human, your uterus expands about 500x its original size. Do you want to read that again? This means your pelvic floor has a lot of extra work to do to support you. Because if it didn’t work harder and provide additional support, everything would fall out the bottom of your body, right? Right.
AND THEN… after holding up another human being for 10 months (give or take), your pelvic floor is supposed to stretch and release and open to gracefully allow the baby to glide out of your birth canal… Or suddenly stop working overtime after your abdomen is cut open to safely deliver your baby out the front door… Like pregnancy never happened… Sounds bonkers, right? It sounds bonkers because it is!
